Iraq lacks spaces where young people can speak about their realities without shame, fear, censorship, or judgment. That’s why Iraqi Zine exists. We are an independent non-profit Iraqi youth initiative founded in 2025 by Mohammed Almzin, an Iraqi artist and activist who believes in zines as tools for expression, documentation, and collective voice, advocating for radical freedom of expression through zine-making, alternative publishing, and creative workshops. We explore silenced topics within society and transform personal experiences into unfiltered physical publications that document the voices of Iraqi youth. By printing, distributing and archiving these zines physically, we aim to preserve voices that are often erased, ignored, or buried beneath normalization and silence.
